General characteristics of the paper:
Each paper should include following parts:
Research Articles
A research article should include; Title, Abstract, Introduction, Materials & Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgement and References.
Abstract: An abstract should accompany each original article. The abstract should be limited to 250 words. It should include the background, materials and methods, results, conclusion, and key words sections separately. It should describe the research purposes or motivation, basic methods (study method, sampling, and data gathering methods), the main findings or viewpoints and central conclusions. It should be factual, and give quantified findings in preference to descriptive language. It should contain no references. On the abstract page, authors should include a list of 3-10 keywords, which will be published with the paper and used for indexing. Key words should confirm to the MeSH.
Background: Introduction should clearly describe the reason for undertaking the work. After addressing some scientific background and an abstract of studies supporting and opposing the project, the reason for undertaking the work must be clarified. It must be followed by a sentence about the purpose of the study.
Materials and Methods: Study method, samples and sampling method and its related control methods should completely be described. In clinical trials, type of interventions (randomization, the intervention itself, and blinding) should be carefully explained. Data gathering methods and instruments must be described. Also if need they must have references, methods of determining validity and reliability must be explained. In the case of using a questionnaire or checklist, it must be attached. The used materials and instruments, and their manufactory must be named. Data analysis (including statistic methods) must be explained completely. Ethical considerations based on standard protocols must be explained carefully.
Results: Results must be provided in a reasonable manner in the form of text, tables, diagrams or pictures. Data of tables and diagrams should not be repeated in the text again. In analytical studies and clinical trials, at first the case and the control group must be compared and then followed by the research findings.
Discussion: The new and important findings of the study must be explained and then compared to the results of other studies (by references) in Iran and the world. The viewpoints other than the study findings must be avoided. Study limitations and its generalization must be discussed.
Conclusion: The paper must be end by a clear conclusion of the results. Suggestions for next studies can also be concluded.
Acknowledgement : Should be presented at the end of the paper and appropriately thanked the partners or sponsors.
