An Iranian Pharmacologist Honored by ACT
The Iranian Journal of Toxicology is pleased to inform the professional colleagues that Dr. Armaghan Emami, Pharm.D., Ph.D., has been honored by the American College of Toxicology (ACT) for the “Best Paper Published in the International Journal of Toxicology” in 2018. She will receive her award during the ACT’s annual meeting in Phoenix, Arizona, in November 2019.  Also, she received an “Excellence in Communication” award from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in May 2019.  The reference to Emami’s winning article is as follows:

The focus of the article is on the local and systemic evaluation, and safety of drugs designed for uncommon routes in nonclinical models. Toxicology investigators who wish to develop such drugs are encouraged to discuss their plan with regulatory agencies, such as FDA, to ensure that their studies meet the established guidelines and minimize the use of animals. Dr. Emami is currently serving at the U.S. FDA, as a Pharmacologist. She earned her Pharm.D. (1996) and Ph.D. (2003) degrees from Tehran University, Tehran, Iran. She has also pursued several postdoctoral fellowship programs in the United States at: Indiana University, Indianapolis, IN (2001-2003); University of Maryland, Baltimore, MD (2004-2005), and Georgetown University, Washington, DC (2005-2008). The Iranian Journal of Toxicology’s Editorial Board wishes to congratulate Dr. Emami on her achievements and her contributions to the field of toxicology.
