Auhtor Responsibilities

 | Post date: 2019/11/29 |
The Iranian Journal of Toxicology (IJT) is committed to following and applying “International Standards for Authors”, issued by the Committee on Publication Ethics, in designing and leading the journal’s review and publishing process, and in dealing with the associated issues. You may find the International Standards for Authors here. Authors should read the standards and apply them to their scholarly works thoroughly.

Authors submitting manuscript should confirm in their cover letters that the manuscripts have been reviewed and approved by all of the authors and that they agree with the quality of the final submission.  The journal adheres to the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and recommends that authorship be based on the following criteria:
  • Each author has substantially contributed to the conception and/or design of the study; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the submitted work.
  • Each author has helped in drafting the study or revising it critically for its intellectual content.
  • Each author has approved the final version of the manuscripts to be published;
  • All authors are aware of and in agreement with the submissions, and are accountable for all aspects of the study, ensuring that questions arising from the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work have been appropriately resolved before submitting it to IJT for publication.

Legitimate Authorship: It is a requirement that all legitimate authors are listed on the manuscript prior to its submission. Contributors who do not qualify as authors should be listed under “Acknowledgements” section.

In addition, authors are advised to comply with the following code of ethics strictly and to submit manuscripts that are their own creations or they are associated with such work only. Such submissions should contain original and new results, data, and ideas, which have not been published or are not submitted or under consideration elsewhere previously. Fabrication of data and results, intellectual property theft and plagiarism are highly prohibited, and must be beyond the ethical conduct of any author. Information obtained via various media should be provided in the manuscript only with the prior permission of the original owners.

Authors should properly cite the work they are referring to, and are strongly advised to crosscheck all references before submission of their manuscripts. They may not try in any form via any media to have their dubious works published. No article should have an author who has not been directly involved in the work for any means or reasons.

Authors and co-authors are strongly advised to review and ensure the accuracy and validity of all of their results in any manuscript prior to submission. The journal Editor should be informed of any potential conflict of interest in advance. Authors are bound by the Creative Commons licensing policy of IJT.

Copyright Transfer Form: All authors must complete and submit the “Copyright Transfer Form” to IJT once they have received the acceptance letter for each submission. A copy of this form will be sent to the corresponding author for sharing with and completing by all of the legitimate authors.
